Afraid of injection from Doctor? Don’t worry Nanopatch is here

We have all been anxious and went mad when a white coat person came up with a needle in his hand specifically in our childhood, because those were the days with maximum injections penetrated no matter for what reason.

And now in the stage of adulthood, we still hesitate to decide whether to get injected or have pills, cause it really hurts.

As per the latest development in medical sector based on nanotechnology, researcher named Mark Kendall from University of Queensland invented a chip-like structured patch with microscopic spikes dry coated with vaccines which identifies the presence of disease after penetrating the nanopatch in stratum corneum and through epidermis and dermis (skin layers of human body) based on proteins flowing in blood without even feeling the pain.

The chips of the nanopatch are made up of the gold coated silicon. Later when the development of the prototype will be commercially started, the tiny wafer chips will be replaced by plastic or polymer material to reduce the manufacturing cost, said Corrie one of the researcher in University of Queensland.

Major advantage of known nanopatch technology is the reduced analysis time utilized to detect diseases in laboratories. Compared to various other vaccines and medication equipment, it does not require any kind of cold storage to retain its durability.

Due to this revolutionary invention, the traditional method of using needles since last 166 years in order to collect the blood samples to examine the disease and to inject the drug to control or prevent the symptoms may soon come to an end.

Kendall said, “An invention which started as a doodle would now take a decade to hit the market”.

Researchers have developed this nanopatch with a motive to diagnose diseases like malaria, tuberculosis, and other infectious disease, due to widespread influence of this disease in remote areas where there are no facilities to draw blood and examine it.

At initial stage, the test was conducted on mice in laboratories and the results were fruitful . Further as a next step towards the research, Kendall and his team are now doing nanopatch medical trials on human volunteers in Brisbane.

Kendall said, “The outlook of creating incredible which would really make difference to millions of people gives a wonderful feeling”.

The team is also curiously working on similar nanopatch development prototypes in terms of replacing insulin syringes for diabetic patients and also predicted that they will start the clinical trials in coming years.

Best part is the overall research ensures to deliver injection-free test and vaccination process in future.

These army troops rushed into the area along the border of Bangladesh, which is majorly home for Muslim Rohingya minority, since the detrimental raids on the police border posts on October 9.

Clashes became more intense over the weekend when army troops killed over 30 civilian within two days assault and observed that for first time military used helicopter gunships for attacks.

In a late Monday Facebook post, the army chief’s office mentioned that in a search operation for attackers, in total 69 Rohingyas were killed and around 234 people were arrested between October 9 and November 14. It further mentioned that 7 soldiers including 1 commanding officer along with 10 policemen sacrificed their lives.

Myanmar’s army has reticent information about their operations and refuses to accept the reports from activists regarding troops killing civilians, torching homes, and raping women. Moreover, profound restrictions on the entry of sovereign observers and foreign reporters make it difficult for them to verify the government reports of army abuse.

The dilating violence in Rakhine region has been the biggest challenge yet for Aung San Suu Kyi’s Government and questions her ability to handle army.

Suu Kyi has faced strong criticism from rights group for not providing a strong defense to “a minority”. The UN has termed this “minority” as the most victimized and ill-treated people in the world.

Michael Evans, President of Alibaba Group, said that he was pretty confident about the success of this festival and knew the day hosen is also in a right place. Singles Day festival is launched each year on November 11. It is also called as Double Eleven due to its date. Initially launched for young population, it was later changed to a shopping benison.

This day was first started in 1990 as an Anti Valentine’s Day. Further in 2009, the company started using giving discounts on its online shopping platforms to boost the revenues on this day, which otherwise is a slack season for the company.

This idea clicked many international brands and they board this journey. Over 14,000 brands around the globe took part in 2016 sale. Discounts on products provided by companies such as Nike, Siemens, and Apple were the best sellers. Local appliance producers such as Haier and Meizu showed strong sells too.

Moreover, Alibaba made this day an international event by inviting famous football player David Beckham and his fashion designer wife Victoria along with retired NBA icon Kobe Bryant and Jack Ma at ‘countdown gala’.

Overall, the analysts concluded that Alibaba witnessed a cutthroat rise in sales despite a slowdown in China’s economy. The reason behind this is assumed to be the broader audience this event has.

Though enough time is provided by the government, a limit put on the amount to be exchanged, that is, 4000 per day. Hence, people are forced to stand in long queue for hours, which is creating hotchpotch outside banks.

Artificial Intelligence: Facebook’s Most Preferable Strategy For Future

For Facebook, artificial intelligence has become the principal ideology than just a programming tool. Along with the company’s products, it is capable of analyzing huge data required by a social network, which connects almost one fourth of the world’s population.

Mike Schroepfer, Facebook’s CTO, stated in a Web Summit today the major contribution artificial intelligence and machine learning will have in the company’s future plans to enhance its global technology accessibility, connectivity, and human–computer interaction.

Schroepfer further presented his views on people’s urge to stay connected and close to each other. Hence to make this possible, they consider it as their responsibility to provide whatever is the best on-going technology required for the same.

Major players in the social media world, such as Facebook, play an extremely crucial role in the artificial intelligence and machine-learning ecosystem. Their market share and the ability to gain the market on the basis of their capabilities make every tactical step they take a global declaration in the industry.

Without being affected by the difficulties, such as the failure of Facebook’s satellite SpaceX Falcon 9 earlier this summer, the company continues to make efforts and focus on its goals of connecting the world. It is engaged in a number of infrastructural projects executed possibly with the help of machine intelligence and aimed at expanding Internet connectivity of both urban and suburban areas.

A well-documented project named Aquila is designed to provide Internet connectivity to the suburban areas. The solar-powered, carbon fiber planes fly in a configuration at altitudes higher than a commercial airliner. The planes communicate with each other with the help of a laser and communicate with the ground with the help of radio frequency. Facebook is using neural networks that are trained to identify population centers in rural African region which would possibly be the target of planes. Thus, with this setup the company is able to reach a maximum number of people with the help of Internet access.

For connectivity in urban areas, Facebook is using LiDAR technology. It is the same technology used in most of the self-driving car projects in order to detect utility polls, which is not an easy task. The company team is taking efforts to build virtual network graphs along with the current data in order to produce the best data mesh.

Facebook’s is behind virtual reality and its high potential to make it possible for us to connect our loved ones far from us require to which extend we understand the company and its efforts. Schroepfer further explained that now it is not about Facebook as an app, rather about Facebook’s mission of using technology to connect people.

US accepts to have killed 119 civilians in Syria and Iraq

Since the US has begun military operations against the Islamic Sate there in 2014, it has killed 119 civilians in Syria and Iraq, said the Pentagon on Wednesday. And this number is far lower than casualty estimated by the monitoring groups.

The casualty estimation is the analysis of several months reports given by Centcom, the US military command which is active in the Middle East. It also mentioned that casualties were caused by 24 air strikes.

us-strikes

Since the air operations begun in August 2014 to wreck the Islamic State group, almost 1,787 civilians have been killed in bloc bombing, the NGO Airways reported.

Colonel John Thomas stated in the Centcom statement that they have a squad who work 24/7 in order to protect involuntary civilian fatalities.

“We do everything to reduce the occurrences and sometimes also at the cost of missing chance to fight in real time,” he further added.

Thomas further states that on investigation it was found that Pentagon’s each strike followed a proper process and each of them adhered to the significant Law of Armed hostility and took suitable safety measures regardless of the unfortunate results.

The US executed over 80% of bloc attacks. It also stated that they use weapons that manage accuracy and limit the civilian fatalities.

Russia is blamed for using conventional bombs which are more harmful to civilians.

Almost 300 civilian victims have been reported in the Syria alone by the bloc strikes, the Amnesty International reported.

As the bloc operations initiate in 2015, the total number of victims rose too harshly that has set a foundation to acquire strongholds in Mosul, Raqqa, Iraq and Syria.

A monitor mentioned on Wednesday that the US-led bloc attack killed over 20 civilians, which included 2 children. The attack occurred in the IS’s Syrian stronghold of Raqqa.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights in Britain said that approximately 12 people were injured in the attack on Tuesday night in al-Heisha town, which is nearly 40 km North of Raqqa.
