Newbies seem to be a big shock in IIT placements in 2016, lining up in huge numbers in spite of almost 30 similar firms being banned by the institutes, and assisting to make up for a drop in global proposal.
While Snapdeal and Flipkart are amongst those banned company by the institutes, their competitors Paytm and Amazon are rapidly appointing students at several Indian Institutes of Technology, and imposing best slots in placements.
Amazon is planning to pay a visit to almost 17 institutes this year as it campaigns to appoint more engineers than 2015. One of the most famous recruiters on campuses is making its primary visit to Indore, Jodhpur, and Bhubaneswar IITs. “We strongly believe that as we grow and extend in India, brilliant engineers from IITs will play an important role in making Amazon’s expansion in India. We maintain to be rapid in our appointing outlook as we increase our operations in India,” commented the HR director for APAC, Raj Raghavan, at Amazon. One noticeable thing was there was no end to the enthusiasm showed by the students. And this was shocking for all the companies that came for hiring.
Amazon, Paytm, and others are all phenomenal. But what about the placements of engineers in the fields like mechanical, civil, metallurgical, and electrical? India needs to concentrate in the heart of engineering fields if it wants to become a global super power. This will always remain a matter of concern as to when will all get equal job opportunities ending up the discrimination.
