Fadnavis Apologizes On Governor’s Speech Translation Gaffe

A havoc was brought in the assembly after the speech of CV Rao was played in Gujarati in the house instead of the Marathi translation. Following this incident, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis expressed his sincere apologies to everyone in the assembly. This has been an embarrassing situation for the ruling party BJP and Shiv Sena. Fadnavis conveyed his apologies as soon as he came to know about this blunder.

Fadnavis Apologizes On Governor’s Speech Translation Gaffe

This incident took place during the first day of the Budget session of Maharashtra’s Legislature when the Governor was addressing the members during the joint session of members of council and assembly. The opposition party members of Congress and Nationalist Congress Party were furious after listening to the Gujarati feed of Governor’s speech in their headphones and they started criticizing the government and started demanding the Marathi translation of the speech.

Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, the leader of Congress in the Assembly said that this incident should not be taken on a lighter note and adding to this statement Dhananjay Munde, NCP’s council member said that the Government has let down 12 crore people of Maharashtra by this incident. After this incident, the members of the opposition boycotted the rest of the speech by Rao and walked out of the house.

Vinod Tawde stated that after hearing the Gujarati audio, he went to the control room and found Marathi translation of the speech and so it is possible that there must have been some technical problem. Fadnavis has urged Speaker Haribhau Bagade to look into the matter and take severe steps against those who are accountable for this terrible incident.

This is the first time such thing has happened in the history of Maharashtra and that too a day before the state is about to celebrate as Marathi Language Day.

Yeddyurappa Turns 75, PM Attends The Celebrations

Yeddyurappa, the CM candidate for BJP in Karnataka turned 75 and PM Modi visited him from New Delhi to give him Birthday wishes. Yeddyurappa Turns 75, PM Attends The Celebrations

There are speculations that Narendra Modi might break his protocol of not giving ministerial positions to the BJP leaders who turn 75. Yeddyurappa knows about this protocol and he speculates his position in Karnataka as the CM if BJP comes to power in the elections which are going to take place in May. The PM has brought an end to all such considerations by announcing that if BJP wins the elections in Karnataka, Yeddyurappa will be appointed as the CM.

Although, it’s better to be cautious, so the followers of Yeddyurappa have alerted everyone in the party to refrain from mentioning his age in their Birthday Wishes. This includes the former CMs Jagadish Shettar and Sadananda Gowda who greeted Yeddyurappa without writing his age. Union Minister Ananth Kumar took a toll by tweeting wishes to his former mentor by mentioning his age.

There have been talks in the party which have worried him but he has dismissed the rumors that the BJP is planning to include him in the Margdarshak Mandal.

The opposition party JDS and the Congress have remarked against this declaration of Yeddyurappa being the CM face of BJP by Modi and have gone further to suggest that Modi should make Yeddyurappa a part of the Margdarshak Mandal to stay strong on his rules of barring ministerial positions to leaders turning 75.

The political analysts have observed that such a decision by BJP is in accordance with TINA (There Is No Alternative).

AIMIM Too May Join Hands With JD For K’taka Polls

Once HD Deve Gowda’s (earlier Prime Minister) Janata Dal had partnered with Mayawati’s BSP at the Karnataka Polls, the Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM), which belongs to Asaduddin Owaisi, MP, Hyderabad, has shown inclination in adding to the tribe. Going by a high-rank JD (S) leader who is closely linked to the Gowda family, it is Owaisi who has conversed about this matter with the JD(S) patriarch at New Delhi. Mulling on the state of anonymity he claimed that the agitated Hyderabad Muslim leader had said to Gowda that his party is keen to join hands with the state JDS for defeating Congress. He said that their leader Gowda appears to be non-committal at the moment. However, the news that Owaisi wants to partner with JD(S) in Karnataka is confirmed.

AIMIM Too May Join Hands With JD For K’taka Polls

On the other hand the JD(S) declared its candidates for the 126 Assembly seats and had already allotted approximately 20 seats to the party belonging to Mayawati.  In addition to that, NCP of Sharad Pawar is also keen on joining the alliance and has further made a demand of 7 seats in Bengaluru region from JDS.

Going by the family sources then, it is estimated that Gowda is presently assessing the pros and the cons of a coalition with AIMIM that is looked upon as a radical Muslim party. One close member expressed that Gowda is concerned about the pros and cons. He is aware that Owaisi has the capacity to take in a couple of thousand Muslim votes, thereby reducing the scope of Congress in few seats. Furthermore, there’s also chance that the Gowda team might gain couple of thousand surplus votes in certain seats. However, the reputation of AIMIM doesn’t seem favorable and is being looked upon as one Muslim fundamentalist party. Hence, Gowda seems to be concerned about any kind of merger with Owaisi that might eat way his Hindu votes. Furthermore, he is aware that non-BJLP Hindus too are not in favor of the communal politics that Owaisi does.

BJP’s OBC Leader Demands Leadership Change In Rajasthan

Looks like alarm bells buzzing for Vasundhara Raje, The CM of Rajasthan, whose government is waiting to face the elections this year. Her leadership capabilities are questioned by state leaders of BJP in Kotha district and are divided over the same.

While the party’s district president has supported the CM, the OBC wing president of BJP in Kota has sent a letter to Amit Shah, BJP president, asking to change the leader in the state.

BJP’s OBC Leader Demands Leadership Change In Rajasthan

The letter sent by the president of OBC wing, Ashok Chaudhary says the results of by-elections in Rajasthan are very disappointing instead of the hard work that BJP workers put in. Several workers, including the OBC wing’s president knew that they are not going to win. Vasundhara Raje’s incapability of handling the state is reflecting in the votes, as a result of morals of the party workers are diminishing.

He also slashed out at the state president of BJP, Ashok Parnami, saying that he is not more than a slave of the Chief Minister. Party workers are not pleased with his way of working either.

He further added that Mrs. Raje is trapped in a chakravyuh and is directing the party towards a path that is full of losses.

Hemant Vijay, the district president of BJP in Kota, defended the Chief Minister by saying that under her government the state has experienced huge developments. Also the organization has become stronger under the guidance of Ashok Parnamai, the president. Mr. Vijay further added that Ashok Chaudhary accepted that although he wrote the letter but he realized his mistake and wants to take the letter back.

The Congress has sealed victory at the by-elections which were termed “semi-final” prior to the legislative assembly elections this year in Rajasthan. Karan Yadavand Raghu Sharma, Congress candidates, won by-elections from Alwar and Ajmer respectively. The BJP is also defeated by the Congress in the Mandalgarh by-polls.

Mayavati And Former PM Gowda Join Hands For Karnataka Polls

For the upcoming Karnataka assembly polls which are scheduled for April-May 2018, former PM Gowda and Mayawati, the BSP chief have come together for a mutual association.

This association was proclaimed in New Delhi by National General Secretary of BSP Satish Chandra Mishra and National General Secretary of JDS Kunwar Danish Alion Thursday. Out of 224 seats in Karnataka, 14 seats are of BSP while the remaining seats will be contested by JDS.

Mayavati And Former PM Gowda Join Hands For Karnataka Polls

The reason for such a cave-in is believed to be Mayawati’s diminishing magic in Uttar Pradesh. Whereas, Deve Gowda claims that the purpose of this agreement is to prevent the distribution of the votes of the Dalits in upcoming elections.

The BSP had contested in 102 seats in the Assembly elections in Karnataka during the year 2004 and had bagged 1.74% votes and at the same time in the Lok Sabha elections, they had candidates in 9 seats and had grabbed 1.22% votes. Back in 2008 Assembly polls, the BSP got a share of 2.7% votes out of the 217 seats it had contested. Things went out of this pattern when in the Lok Sabha polls in 2009 this vote share was reduced to 1.66% and BSP did not get any seat in the Assembly election that year.

Syed Zulfikar Hashmi was the first one to be elected from Bidar which is in North Karnataka in 1994 when the BSP entered the State Assembly elections for the first time.

JDS hopes that with the support of BSP it can add several seats to its own share of 15% in Karnataka. On the other hand, BSP is expecting to have their share in the game during this election with the support of JDS. BSP has settled for almost 20,000 votes in the seats it has in the state.

Leader Of DMK Makes Outrageous Promise to Students

As the government of Tamil Nadu seems to keep expectations alive who wished to give an exemption to the students belonging to Tamil Nadu in the entrance test for medical, an opposition party leader made a shocking promise to students. KN Nehru, ex transport minister, said to a crowd of students objecting the national exam that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party would have permitted cheating in the exams, if they have been unable to secure the students an exemption from all India based medical entrance exam.

Leader Of DMK Makes Outrageous Promise to Students

The DMK lawmaker told students that Tamilians are done with being honest. Students openly copy in Bihar, MP and UP. He cited the examples of other states that allow blatant cheating in state board examinations.

However, NEET is conducted by CBSE and not by state government. This year, there will be no alterations in the syllabus as stated by CBSE.

The argument concerning National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test has led to numerous queries at the Supreme Court and National Democratic Alliance -led government’s time to impose a single all-India based entrance examination. One among various other questions is if the answerable bodies should have conducted NEET in the year2016 with the exam in 2017 to give students enough time to get ready for entrance test.

Tamil Nadu students are not very comfortable with the test that according to them, are putting their state applicants in a disadvantageous position. About 10 years ago the entrance exam for medical admissions has been eliminated in Tamil Nadu and admissions were given based on 12th Standards result. Then it was debated that rural students who are unable to go for private tuitions will not get placed in schools of state-board.

The previous year, a student, 17, scored brilliant marks in her 12th standard killed herself because she couldn’t fetch a seat in the medical college.

Air Fare Cheaper Than Autos Says Civil Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha!

Jayant Sinha, the Civil Aviation Minister for the state said that in the present scenario, traveling via the air route is more cost-effective than traveling via auto rickshaw. Auto fare if considered per kilometer basis is higher than the flight fare.

He confronted the people on the 27th International Management Conference of the IMA or Indore Management Association, where he expressed his views.

Air Fare Cheaper Than Autos Says Civil Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha!

Sinha even said that a few portion of the crowd might think him to be nonsense but the fact remains unchanged. In order to back his statement he clarified a mathematical analysis, where he calculated and proved that in the current scenario, the people traveling to and from Indore and Delhi are paying Rs. 5 each kilometer whereas the people traveling by an auto rickshaw are paying a fare that ranges between Rs. 8 and Rs. 10 per kilometer.

Jayant Sinha explained that people prefer air route over the other modes of transport because of its budget-friendly fare. Indian air fares are the most cost-efficient fare in the world. Even Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister pointed that the people who wear slippers are also availing flights.

To clear the cloud further, Sinha added that the scenario was a bit different four years behind the time. Only 11 crore people were accessing the flights for transportation, which will reach 20 crore before the present fiscal year ends.

The government promotes the travel by flight and wants the number to increase to 100 crore in the forthcoming years, which is five times the amount of the present number.

Mr. Sinha further added that the country needs to enhance the innovation in the field of entrepreneurship in order to offer budget-friendly services to the common citizen of the country. This will help overtake the developed economies like the United States, China, and more.
